Fred Lehr – Power Currency
His Twitter profile is three words: Incurable behavioral scientist
-Fred Lehr
Fred Lehr was encouraged by his wife, son, and daughter to expend some of his enthusiasm and knowledge in a book that will reach a broad audience of people who seek to be and do better. In Power Currency: How to Grow, Enhance, and Stop Squandering Your Personal Power! readers are asked to identify what they want beyond the material things they are programmed to crave. Fred Lehr, next, teaches how to understand the value of personal power – mental, emotional, and spiritual – that needs proper management to grow. People can then spend the power on the things they treasure most in life.
As a professional who has spent many years focusing on family dynamics, stress management, spiritual wellness, and behavioral science, Fred Lehr is familiar with traditional self-help guides. In Power Currency, he applies a different approach. Because money is well understood, Fred uses financial terms to convey the principles of personal power.
“The ability to get what I want” is how Fred Lehr defines power. His book encompasses many facets, including family, relationship, organizational, and corporate. Often the bottom line is wealth. Here is a paragraph from Power Currency:
By and large, most people think wealth is the primary method to acquire what they want. As a result, they spend their days in the fervent attempt to amass wealth, much to the abandonment of more rewarding activities, and only with marginal success.
Fred Lehr intends to help readers think beyond the acquisition of desperate or undefined power that often ends in emotional bankruptcy. He hopes people will learn to earn it, save it, and avoid squandering it to gain the most benefit – to get what they want and to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
Dr. Fred Lehr has a BA in Sociology from Susquehanna University, a Master of Divinity from LutheranTheological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Drew University. His knowledge base, career, and practical experience permeate the pages of Power Currency. He is available to discuss it via his Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Fred, the images on this Chesapeake Bay postcard remind me of how beautiful and important it is – filled with bald eagles, American oystercatchers, bottlenose dolphins, and blue crabs – a few of the species that need protection, along with the residents and businesses that live off the land. As a Virginia native, it also brings back my childhood memories of times at “the beach.” Thank you for sending it for my postcard collection. 🙂
